From Picky to Progress

This 12-Week Online Course Includes:

  • Weekly video modules

  • Weekly Q&A sessions

  • Weekly feeding plan

  • Progress tracking forms

  • Bite-sized success strategies

A 12-week feeding program developed by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and Feeding Specialist with 27 years of experience.

This program is designed to help parents understand their child’s eating challenges and develop a tangible, realistic weekly plan to improve feeding skills. It is geared toward all ages, with the ultimate goal of increasing the number of foods a child eats, improving nutrition and calorie intake when needed, and establishing a more peaceful mealtime routine for the whole family.

Each week, families receive a new module that includes strategies for feeding challenges, sensory approaches, and behavior techniques to help children make progress. Progress will be measured using three forms, and a weekly feeding plan will be provided for consistency among caregivers. Parents will also have access to group Q&A and problem-solving sessions for 13 weeks, with the option to continue support through a monthly membership after completing the course.

The real work happens at the table between the caregiver and the child. This program follows a slow, structured progression to ensure success, avoiding overwhelming changes that could cause children to shut down. It is designed to be practical and achievable for families, offering "bite-sized" strategies to encourage progress. However, success requires commitment and focused mealtimes.

This program is built on 27 years of experience working with families of children with feeding difficulties and is structured to ensure that parents see progress while using effective strategies. It can be used alongside feeding therapy to enhance results.

Common Questions

Q: Can this program be used in place of feeding therapy?

A: No. This program should not replace feeding therapy. Feeding therapy is always recommended when possible. However, if there are long waitlists or therapy is not an option, this program can provide valuable strategies in the meantime.

For children with oral motor difficulties, this program can still be followed. If a child has swallowing difficulties or is on a G-tube, this program can help prepare for a successful transition to feeding, but the child should still be followed by a feeding therapist and pediatrician.

Q: Can this program be used alongside feeding therapy?

A: Yes! Your feeding therapist will likely appreciate you going through this program because it will support and enhance therapy progress.

This program was designed by a feeding therapist with 27 years of experience, structured to work well with therapy and reinforce strategies. However, your feeding therapist’s recommendations should always take priority over anything in this program.
